Crowds and Power

“Can I ask you something?” he snapped. “What do you think of Donald Trump?”
I could say many negative things, but others have that covered. I could say many positive things, but others have that covered. What I question is the question. The presumption that I OWE it anybody to address ONE man instead of what I have been addressing, namely entire systems of deep corruption. Hating One Very Bad Man The Only State Sanctioned Bad Man is central to the narrative in Orwell’s 1984. His name was Emanuel Goldstein. Remember? The enslaved people of Oceania were ushered into halls to scream, roar, and throw tomatoes at the screen featuring his image, during “Two Minutes Hate.”

That is what many of us have been reduced to. It’s a national sport. Hating Trump so much that many of our media pollinate openly statements about killing him, assassinating him.

Absolutely extraordinary in our lifetimes, that this would happen.

You must go inside and ask yourself: Is this what I want to be?
One day we will re-examine everything he SAID, next to everything Hillary and Obama DID. And then we will have a new discussion.
For now, here is my official statement on Donald Trump:

I do not accept Donald Trump as my anti-Christ.

It would seem, at least to me, that some should read their copy of 1984 again. Perhaps their bible as well, though how odd and surprising that this atheist would suggest such.
No disrespect intended to the host of this site but 1984 has been one of my favorite reads since junior-high school. The bible not so much after those grade-school church basement classrooms http://truthbarrier.com/2016/05/21/come-the-rapture/ but it still serves as an excellent tool for study and reference. My copies of both rest in front of me now. Actually, the bible belonged to my deceased grandmother. She was a firm believer in the king james “word of god” but that is topic for another piece of writing. This is just one of my many copies of Orwell’s Armageddon prophecy. i like to keep extras on hand to give people who have never read it. 1984 has been one of my favorite reads since junior-high school. i graduated high-school in 1983. “It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.”
i have in fact often referenced the grasp Julia voices regarding the inner meaning of the Party’s sexual puritanism empowered by the junior anti-sex league to compare with a culture that has been lied to for thirty years about a supposedly sexually transmitted, deadly viral epidemic threat.
“With Julia, everything came back to her own sexuality.”
“It was not merely that the sex instinct created a world of it’s own which was outside the Party’s control and which therefor had to be destroyed if possible. What was more important was that sexual privation induced hysteria, which was desirable because it could be transformed into war fever and leader worship. The way she put it was:
“when you make love you’re using up energy; and afterwards you feel happy and don’t give a damn for anything. They can’t bear you to feel like that. They want you to be bursting with energy all the time. All this marching up and down and cheering is simply sex gone sour. If you’re happy inside yourself, why would you get excited about Big Brother and the Three-Year Plans and the Two Minutes Hate and all the rest of their bloody rot?”
    Sound familiar?
Though the self-professed rapist who is soon to be presiding in the big white house historically reserved for elected leader of the “free-world” indeed pales in compare with the charismatic, well-spoken, intelligent, seductively appealing and sexually desirable world demon leader to hell those church basement, grade-school classroom teachings preached me to beware of as traits identifying he who would be marker of the beast foretelling end-times, he even far less resembles the enigmatic leader of last hope for those seeking escape from the tyranny of Big Brother.

It is almost insulting to the genius of Orwell that You compare this frenzied orgy of self-initiated and self-sponsored, media complicit, corporate brand name promotion effluvium with a government required expression of contempt for dissent. Insulting and quite frankly ironic considering all You have endured simply for boldly reporting Truth and Dissent. 1984 has been one of my favorite novels since junior-high. You have been one of my favorite journalists, reporters and writers since that 1987 life-saving article. Considering some of the things he has said and promised perhaps the trump should suffer such wrath and disdain as You have endured simply for giving your voice to Truths. It might be the most preparation he has experienced for the position yet.
Emanuel Goldstein he most certainly is not.
We already can examine “everything he SAID, next to everything Hillary and Obama DID”. Even better-or perhaps worse- soon we will be able to examine everything he DID next to everything Hillary and Obama DID. Then will we have a new discussion?
Indeed Celia, though the trumpeted one in no way lives up to my expectation of the anti-Christ once feared my-self to be, he in no way demonstrates his-self to be a savior, a hope or even a leader i could believe in, follow or trust.
    Has he for you?
    How?
Not expecting anything i say here will change how anyone feels or believes or votes, i am simply grateful for the freedom to say it.

“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.”

Please tell, what did obama do and hillary do? Other then save the country and world from economic melt down an to wars , (one completely unjust). After the Republicans had the wheel. So what was it? Pizzagate?

    • Stephen Ericson says:

Obama ran for office. He didn’t run for office in a world that was completely sanitized, he ran for office in the world as it was at the time. He said he wanted the job and he got it.

He decided against his military advisers to withdraw the troops from Iraq. If he were a student of history worth his salt he would have known that something would rush into the vacuum left by the outgoing American presence. He knew, as did I, that the United States was leaving vast stockpiles of weaponry and other military resources. Those were left behind, seemingly without a care as to who could access them.

Do I have to keep going? Do you know who ISIS is?

You keep going on about Pizzagate, because I think you believe that that is working for you. It’s not. You look foolish. Pizzagate never drew any conclusions, never sent anyone to jail wrongly etc. We’ve spoken about how the ‘evidence’ is just innuendo, and that’s true. It’s loaded innuendo, and self inflicted at that, but it’s not really evidence. We all acknowledge that. That doesn’t mean that it’s all completely nothing, or not worth investigating. If Pizzagate is foolish to have considered, the please, tell us how believing that the Russian’s hacked the election is somehow rigorous? There’s zero evidence that the Russians did anything of the sort. Now, Pizzagate is the stuff of internet investigation, it’s the stuff of people who have inquiring minds and can see the patterns it presents. Nobody in any top positions of the Republican party is saying a word about it.
Obama and Harry Reid have gone on about Russia hacking the election (I told him to knock it off!).

Do you now see how incompetent they seem?

    • Stephen Ericson says:

Perhaps you should read this as well. It may not seem like a big deal to someone who doesn’t have a security clearance, but to someone who does it’s such a flagrant blatant outright crime.

as for iraq “It was President George W. Bush who signed the Status of Forces agreement in 2008, which planned for all American troops to be out of Iraq by the end of 2011.”

as for Ms Clinton’s emails whatever , bush destroyed his emails, trump uses a fuckin iphone . get over it.

pizzagate , true your guys are deleting posts and pretending no involvement , fuckin losers. own your shit.

as for the hacking , again turn your brain on . i think putin is slipping the tip in trump right now.

go now i think you mom’s made lunch

        • Stephen Ericson says:

          Bullshit.

“At a White House news conference on July 12, 2007, Bush declared: “I know some in Washington would like us to start leaving Iraq now. To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we’re ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al-Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we’d allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean we’d be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.”

Bush may have been under political pressure to sign that agreement, but it wasn’t his idea or his intention. I was against the war however, as was Trump. Hillary voted for it. So…

Ms. Clinton’s emails…whatever indeed. Perhaps if we knew what was in them, oh who am I kidding, you’d dismiss them either way.

BTW, as for ‘Bush deleting his emails’ the left leaning snopes doesn’t even agree with you. Nice try though. And Trump isn’t president yet, so his devices aren’t even part of the conversation.

“as for the hacking , again turn your brain on”

33k emails deleted, and that’s nothing, whatever, but you buy…sans evidence, or even innuendo for that matter, a conspiracy theory about Russia ‘hacking our election’?

What would have been their motivation I have to wonder? Do you get most of your political information from watching SNL? It seems that way.

Go now, I think it’s time you took a nap.

          Old fart.

    Dear Celia,
Thank you so much for posting this, it speaks the truth so eloquently.
Engineered polarity, demons and anti-Christs, war is peace… the solution does not live within the problem.
We are infinite light beings of vast creativity, when united the human heart is Thee most powerful force on the planet. ( see Princetons random event generator experiments, as well as NASA’s monitoring of Earths EMF fields) Let us not turn away from the truth and see “the man behind the green curtain” but let’s at the same time unite our creative abilities and step into a new paradigm.
    Cheers and Happy Solstice

well, trump is surrounding himself with trash. case in point,
General Mike Flynn, Donald Trump’s pick to serve as his national security adviser, met several weeks ago with Heinz-Christian Strache, the head of Austria’s anti-immigrant Freedom Party, which was founded after World War II by former Nazis.

Strache described the meeting, which was first reported by The New York Times, on his Facebook page, where he also announced signing a “cooperation pact” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

    • Stephen Ericson says:

When the democrats ‘reach out with an open hand not with a clenched fist’ or whatever Obama said to that effect, they get the peace prize, well before his form of ‘diplomacy’ proves to be a disaster for people in the middle east.

What would you have General Flynn do? Not have any relations with whoever? I’m so confused by Democrats these days. Where does this completely sudden animosity toward Russia come from? Is it that they’re not communist enough anymore? It’s just so completely out of character. Should we be trying to make war with them, like Hillary wanted to? Are people like you and Cindy Sheehan going to have a pro war rally?

“We want war! We want war!! We want WAR!!!”

      ?

Next to believing in imaginary gods, the greatest human failing may be our apparent need to stand on opposing platforms and throw shit at each other; we cannot seem to evolve beyond the tribal mentality of conflict and confrontation, regardless of the topic or issue.
